Jailbreak

Jailbreak

Jailbreak is the term for when restrictions are bypassed on a mobile device, especially an iOS device like an iPhone or iPad, to modify features or add functionality. Normally, Apple delivers these devices with a closed operating system environment that restricts users to certain pre-installed apps and functions. Apple also prevents or restricts downloading of apps from external sources.

However, jailbreaking poses risksto device security and stability problems. In addition, it can void the manufacturer’s warranty. Those and other factors make jailbreaking undesirable in the corporate environment.
