Corporate Owned, Single Use or dedicated devices (COSU)

Corporate Owned, Single Use or dedicated devices (COSU)

Corporate-owned, single-use (COSU) refers to devices that a company provides specifically for a particular purpose and configures exclusively for this task. Compared to BYOD, COBO and COPE, the IT department has the greatest possible influence over COSU devices.

Examples of dedicated devices
COSU can be found in various industries, particularly in retail, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare and education. For example, point-of-sale terminals, digital menu boards or medical devices can be configured as COSU devices.

Configuring COSU
IT admins can configure, monitor and manage COSU devices centrally. This makes it easier to distribute updates, security patches and applications and to prevent access to unwanted functions or applications.
