Push method

Push method

The push method is a method of controlling workflows, priorities, task assignments and resource allocation. In contrast with the pull methodwhere project teams decide how and when to complete tasks and projects, the push method relies on top-down control by managers.

The greatest benefit of the push method lies precisely in this central control and forward planning and assignment of tasks. This allows decisions to be made quickly and tasks to be distributed effectively.

The push method follows the traditional project management modelin which a project manager is responsible for creating a detailed project plan with tasks and deadlines. Team members are given assignments and timelines for specific tasks. The project manager maintains control over project progress and resource allocation.
